KITOTEC Measuring Magnifier 2016 with 15x magnification, focusable and scale 0.1 mm with a measuring length of 14 mm
The KITOTEC measuring magnifier 2016 is a wide-angle magnifier with 15x magnification in combination with a glass scale graduation of 0.1 mm. The magnifier has been newly developed to enable sharp observation of the entire measuring range of 14 mm diameter at 15x magnification of the object. The field curvature and lateral chromatic aberration have been perfectly corrected by a combination of four lenses. Two of the lenses are made with a new type of optical glass. In addition, all six air-glass interfaces are multi-coated to prevent internal reflections (anti-reflective coating). Once again, perfect optics have been used to achieve a very large viewing and measuring range in relation to the magnification.
When using this instrument, adjust the distance between the glass scale and the magnifier by turning the knurled ring on the magnifier until the magnified image of the scale is in focus. After that, no readjustment is necessary until the user changes.
The standard scale with black graduations shown in the illustration is included with the magnifier.
In optics, an achromatic lens is a system consisting of two lenses made of glass with different Abbe numbers (different degrees of dispersion). The system contains a converging lens (usually made of crown glass) and a diverging lens with a lower Abbe number and thus stronger dispersion than the converging lens (usually made of flint glass). This allows the longitudinal color error that every simple lens has to be corrected for two wavelengths, i.e., the system has the same focal length for these two colors.
