The CSM glass scale with an additional dial gauge to measure distances in the 0.01 mm range
A further increase in reading accuracy is possible with the chrome microscale. The distance between the tenths of a division is measured using an adapted analogue dial gauge. In this way, distances can be determined to an accuracy of hundredths of a millimetre.
Special metric - inch dial gauge: The precision special dial gauge is part of the standard equipment and is held in the frame with the clamping screw. It shows the values between the graduations of the scales on the glass body by recording the distance the glass scale travels by moving it within the guide frame by means of the fine adjustment screw. The graduation of the dial gauge is 0.01mm on the outer, black scale and 0.001" on the inner, different coloured scale.
Optional digital dial indicator : An electronic dial indicator is available as a separate accessory, which can be exchanged for the mechanical dial indicator. The mode of operation is the same, only the display of the intermediate scale values changes from analogue to digital. Attention, the data output of the electronic dial gauge can only transmit the intermediate values and not the total measured distance!
The precision glass scales have graduations and numbers vapour-deposited from hard chrome. One scale each is available in metric and inch divisions. To make the numbers easier to read, they are underlaid on one side with a white band. There are two anodised handles on the side for safe handling of the chrome scale.
The precision magnifiers (type 2016 with 15x magnification and a field of view of 12 millimetres), in conjunction with the two lights, enable easy, error-free reading of the scale. The smallest graduation of the inch scale is 0.005". The minimum graduation of the metric scale is 0.1 millimetre.
The valuable precision glass scale is supplied in a sturdy wooden case and is protected from damage in it. The chrome scale is available in lengths of 300, 500 and 1000 millimetres. The glass scale has the advantage of very low thermal expansion. Temperature fluctuations hardly have any influence when using the Chromscale.
Specification:
Upper measuring scale: Graduation = 0.005"
inscribed (small) 0 .05 .10 ... (inch)
labelled (large) 0 1.0 2.0 ... (inch)
Lower measuring scale: Pitch = 0.1 mm
inscribed (small) 0 1 2 ... (mm)
labelled (large) 0 10 20 ... (mm)
The graduations and numbers vapour-deposited on the glass body in hard chrome are razor-sharp and absolutely scratch-resistant. The graduation mark thickness is 0.010 mm. White bands allow perfect reading in the dark.
Accuracy of graduation according to DIN 864:
Available in lengths (measuring range of the double scale):
300 mm / 12" = total length 353.8 mm (± 1mm) + dial gauge
500 mm / 20" = total length 557.0 mm (± 1mm) + dial gauge
1,000 mm / 40" = total length 1,065.0 mm (± 1mm) + dial gauge
