TZM-MOT: Motorised telecentric zoom
Why do we need telecentric optics at all? Or rather, when should telecentric optics be used? Basically, it is used to measure different heights within an image, to avoid distortions, i.e. erroneous measurements at the edges of an optical system, and to measure grinding wheels or parts with similar geometry.
Why do we offer a motorised zoom? The big advantage is that the magnification can only be changed via the hotkeys in the software. This guarantees a process-safe working with the system. Depending on the environmental conditions, the camera system would be defective after a short time without a dust cover. The solid aluminium protective housing is completely enclosed and guarantees trouble-free operation of the system. The technical data of the optics are identical to those of the manual system. The control of the system is integrated in a small metal box, which is connected to the computer via USB or RS-232 interface.
The working distance (lens end to object) of approx. 180 mm does not have to be changed. The zoom range covers a field of view from 4 mm to 50 mm when combined with a 1 1/8" camera chip. The object depth of field varies in this range from 1.3 mm to 38.8 mm. In many cases, the manual or motorized systems are used for upgrading grinding machines or dressing machines.
Especially when used in dressing machines, the protective housing is very important, as the abrasive dust can penetrate the mechanics of the system and cause irreversible damage. Of course, these high-quality optical systems are not only intended for installation in machines. We can supply the manual and motorised telecentric zoom systems with tripods on aluminium or granite bases, as well as in combination with positioning or cross measuring stages. These are again available as manual or motorised versions. So there is a wide range of possibilities.
Included in the scope of delivery: The motorised telecentric zoom optics with USB 2.0 camera and 5 metre USB cable. Metric MT measuring software, calibration disc with DAkkS protocol, motor control and protective housing for the optical system.
On request, we can provide stepfiles with the external dimensions if you wish to manufacture a fixture to hold the system.
